National Population Registration Campaign

The Department of Home Affairs is intensifying its public outreach programme to ensure that each and every citizen, young and old, has been registered on the National Population Register and has the right document at a specified time of their lives. This large-scale campaign will be running until December 2011. The mobile units visit communities in remote rural areas across the country.

Gift of the Givers together with Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Chief Ndeva visit the Elliotdale community in Umtata registering scores of people. GOTG fed 7000 people and distributed the following items:

300 Sweet Packs
100 Unilever Hygiene Packs
50 Baby Packs
Clothing
Water
