Gift of the Givers

Mandela Day 2010

Mandela Day has tremendous symbolism attached to it depending on the frame of reference. For Gift of the Givers it's synonomous with service as this is the ideal we represent. In general, our 22 categories of projects are geared towards empowerment, sustainability, acute aid delivery and long term development, ALL with one aim, to bring HAPPINESS, a SMILE, HOPE and CREATE OPPORTUNITY for humans in distress.

Mandela Day is no different. This year eight programmes have been set up in keeping with some of the ideals above. With the World Cup having just taken place in Africa, the need to keep it alive and to take the benefits further in terms of enhancing soccer development among the youth, features in our events. In summary:

16 July 2010 - Visit to the Ephraim Zulu Old Age Home in Soweto at 16h00 to donate food parcels, blankets, a walking frame and wheelchairs.
17 July 2010 - Visit to the Bethesda Home for homeless and abused children in Klipspruit, Soweto, at 10h00 to donate food parcels, blankets, new clothes and sweet packs.
