29/05/2010 - GOTG Funds SKISA Self Defense Training in KZN |
Gift of the Givers funds SKISA as they take free self defense training to the KZN disadvantaged areas. The workshop took place in Phoenix and included children from Inanda, Amouti, Ntuzuma, Kwa-mashu and Phoenix.
The training was voluntarily conducted by visiting World Karate Legend, Grandmaster Kanazawa (Professor of Traditional Martial Arts). Special guest, Stanley Khoza Shihan, chairman from karate KZN, the provincial controlling body for all styles of karate, was also present.
More than 120 children were taught the basic skills of self defence through the medium of karate by the grandmaster and two time world champion Murakami Shihan. For most of the children this was their first karate lesson ever and the excitement showed on their faces as they made a loud 'Kiaaaai !!!!!' whilst punching, kicking and blocking.
GOTG also provided hot dogs, shirts and shorts.
