Football League Presentation 13 November 2010

The Newholmes Football Association together with 12 local soccer teams, consisting of youth in the surrounding areas, participated in a 2010 Soccer League and Knockout Cup. Commencing in May and ending in November 2010 the teams came together for a presentation and prize giving afternoon at the Newholmes Sports Grounds, Pietermaritzburg.

Gift of the Givers distributed 250 Unilever Hygiene Packs to all team members and members of the Football Association. A further cash prize of R30 000 was divided amoung the 12 participating teams. Rakesh Mahabeer, Manager of the winning team, Orient Heights FC, could not express more the positive influence this soccer development project has had on his players keeping their focus away from the harmful activites being offered to youth such as drug and alcohol abuse.
