Esther House is a shelter tucked away in a small town called Ashburton, near Pietermaritzburg. It offers short-term, safe accommodation for abused women and children who are given the opportunity to participate in basic skills training, leaving them better equipped once they depart from its loving environment. Counselling, guidence and tender care plays an effective part in the lives of these residents, making it a valuable 67 minutes of giving for the staff of Gift of the Givers Head Office, who also made a personal contribution to the women and children.
