Team Celeritas – Eleanor Harding, Ingrid Lambert, Akhona Mafenuka, Keyuri Naidoo, Samantha Rogers, accompanied by Mrs Lynelle Van Heerden and Mrs Joan Manders of Pretoria High School for Girls to participate in the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge World Finals in Singapore. This competition was held from Saturday 18 September until the awards evening on Wednesday 22 September. Team Celeritas competed against 24 other teams from countries like Australia, United States of America, Germany, England, Wales, Ireland, China, Canada, etc. Visitors to the team pit display were highly impressed with their display, the distinctive uniforms, the branding and Team Celeritas buttons that were pinned onto visitors and the excellent finishing of the car. A lot of interest was also shown in the innovative and professionally manufactured wheels. Team Celeritas won a trophy for Perseverance in the Face of Adversity (the implications of schools being closed for 5 weeks during the Soccer World Cup and only having 6 weeks to secure sponsorships and to get ready to actually compete, also due to labour action towards the end of their getting ready). In addition, the team received one of three nominations for the best Marketing and Sponsorship. Gift of the Givers sponsored the teams flights and entry tickets to the value of R300 000.00
