Gift of the Givers have intervened in the Garden Route Fires and have been very involved since 29 October in the area with the following activities:

1. Extricating beehives and moving them to safety.
2. Feeding several hundred people in various community centres twice a day.
3. Providing trauma counselling for affected individuals.
4. Offering play therapy to children.

The Gift of the Givers "Bee" Team led by Owen, Grant, Gareth and Layla did an incredible job extracting and relocating hives in the face of many, many stings, from very anxious bees. Hives were extracted from the Botanical Gardens and Nelson Mandela University in George on 29 October and various sites in the Knysna corridor on 30 October. Cape Town City FC Accompanies Gift of the Givers in Khayelitsha

Deputy Minister of Human Settlements visits Khayelitsha today
