List of Awards

In our quest for service excellence in endeavouring to serve humanity in need, our activities were acknowledged through 47 diverse national and international awards, citations, commendations and special recognition. This section profiles this recognition and includes 3 awards from Heads of State, including the President's Order of the Star of South Africa, the highest civilian award in the country.

  • 2010 - (4 Mar) Recognition of Outstanding Humanitarian Award from Al Ansaar Foundation.
  • 2010 - (11 Feb) President Zuma, in his State of the Nations address in Parliament, singles out Gift of the Givers for their response to Disasters in general and to the Haiti Earthquake specifically.
  • 2009 - (4 Dec) Inducted as an Honorary Life Patron of SKISA
  • 2009 - (18 Nov) Recognised as one of 500 of the world's most influential Muslims
    in a book by Prof John Esposito of Georgetown University.
  • 2009 - (30 Oct) Islamic Medical Association of Tshwane for Community Service Award.
  • 2009 - (26 Apr) Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF) in association with its affiliate Shotokan Karate-do International South Africa (SKISA) conferred an International Commendation Award on Dr Imtiaz Sooliman for his outstanding contribution to mankind and the promotion of sport amongst all South Africans.
